Creo Tutorial 4

Modeling & Assembling of Flange Coupling using CREO software

About Flange Coupling:

This is a standard form of coupling. It consists of two cast iron flanges keyed to the end
of the shafts. The flanges are tightened together by means of a number of bolts. The bolt head
and nut, in this case, are fully exposed and may present a risk to operators. The bolt heads and nuts
are often protected by providing cover in the flange on them. This coupling is known as
protected flange coupling.

To ensure correct alignment of the shafts, one flange has a projected portion and the other
flange has a corresponding recess. The projected portion enters the recess and the shafts are kept
in alignment.
